Hey Ralph.
I want to drop you a line and tell ya that I
purchased the video All the right moves. Liked it lots. We used the X zone this
past season 2007. My hunting partner also watched the video (he still has it) He
did not want to "Waste a day with some theory that only works in the movies" So
My friend was in camp and He also watched the video and so we set out on the
morning hunt. 1st day... Our first set up Jon my bud and I were to close
together. He was only 30 yards behind me. I saw antlers on the set up but the
bull hung up. So after he left. I don't think he saw what he wanted. We walked
and called and found another bull. This time we were about 100 yards apart. It
was about 9:30 in the morning and sure enough he walked right by me. 30 yard
shot. He went maybe 25 yards and bingo. My very first elk. EVER!!!. I used your
deboning technique. 1 hr 22 mins later he was bagged and tagged. Got back to
camp .. My hunting partners reaction was next hunt we will do this. The next
morning He and his wife and I went to the same area and bingo they were talking.
Found them and set up. My partner shoots a traditional bow I shoot a compound.
That being said we used the x zone and I put a bull in his lap.. Well almost. 3
yards. He was to close and Bret could not draw his bow back. After what seemed
like hours or like 5 6 min he caught wind of Bret exhaling. Poof. I had 2 100
quart coolers full of meat and needed to get it in a freezer so I went home the
next day. Here is a picture. He is not a big bull. He tastes great. I am not
after huge racks. I would take a cow just as quick as a bull. I love to cook and
food is what I am after. I want to thank you for that video. Jon, Bret, Levi,
Alvin, Cassie and myself will be using the x zone this season. My crew got a bit
bigger. Jon has never hunted and after this experience he went straight to the
Archery shop on Carlisle and bought a bow. Same wit h his dad. Levi is a 13 year
old boy who just moved into the neighborhood this year. Good kid. I made him a
deal. 3.0 grades and his mom happy with him and I will take him hunting. We put
in for 52 both seasons and 15 this year... Hope to get it. Thanks again.

Hello Fellow Hunters & Friends:
2008 has already started to be a great hunting year for me and my close hunting buddies. We spent January first hunting mule deer in my old stomping grounds in the Mimbres Valley, East of Silver City, New Mexico. As I write and communicate about our deer hunting action, the mule deer in this area have peaked well into the rut. Bucks are chasing does everywhere with good size racks easily to be found.
I was fortunate to have Jerome Sanchez follow me around for two days of hunting with the video camera where we captured my harvest on film. This hunt was full of action with bucks chasing multiple does in heat, wait till you see the footage.
The morning of the harvest started out rather quick and on the move as I spotted an average ten point buck in search of a girl friend approximately 800 yards away. Knowing the direction he was moving I decided to close in fast in the open cedar, pinon juniper country, as he was skirting a round knob headed east. Jerome and I quickly ran and closed the gap on the buck in a full all out sprint. We had gone undetected across the open country when all of a sudden as we were topping out the buck was standing slightly quartering looking towards us. I had already knocked an arrow and had made up my mind that I was going to launch an arrow at him if the opportunity arose.
Well quickly, as he looked at us he stood there at one hundred and one yards as I ranged him out with my new Leupold Laser Range Finder. Knowing that I had been practicing and executing a six inch consistent group at this yardage with my X-Force PSE Bow, I decided to launch. Well, the first shot went right over his back as the upward angle was steep and I held fairly high, or well the heck with excuses, I will admit it, I just missed. But knowing where I had held my hundred yard pin the first time, my confidence grew as I knocked and reloaded for the second shot. The buck flinched after the first arrow went over his back, and then made the mistake of holding tight for a second shot giving me an opportunity. As I re leased the arrow the second time, I remember holding the pin focused intensely while I followed through the shot. As the arrow skied in flight, all of a sudden the arrow smacked the buck with a loud crunch and the buck leaped out of the ground into the air and immediately started running. I remember and can still see the buck slowing down as his rear legs slowed down and his tail fluttered rapidly as he went out of sight. Jerome responded quickly “I got it on video, you hit him Dude”.
Soon the radio called us from a distance as Ron Strain Jr. told us “He is getting weak, I saw it all from up here, and then stated he is down.” Jerome just kept rolling the camera as he captured all my excitement and the road to recovery on film. Knowing the information about the buck being down, I started walking towards the initial sight of the hit. With no question arriving to the scene, the blood trail was massive as the expandable solid Vortex Broadhead did its devastating job as it was sent through the X-Force. Finding the buck was no question as we quickly got to him as we admired this gracious animal the good Lord Gave Me, with lots of pictures and video footage.
What an awesome hunt it was, please find the attached photo listed below and wait till you see the footage on my website soon at www.hotspotelk.com. Please send in your stories and picture to me to post on the website. Have a great year, shoot straight, and good luck hunting.
